Anise K. Strong is an ancient historian and Latinist specializing in the study of marginal and outcast groups within the Roman Republic and Empire. My book manuscript, Wicked Wives and Good Whores: Roman Women and Moral Categories, explores the use of sexualized and gendered language to restrict and define the public behavior of ancient Roman women.
